Directed Service

  • Created PHP template for dynamic web applications to provide consistent user experience.
  • Developed the KAPI (Kansas Aerial Photography Initiative) web interface to aid in discovery of K-State Libraries’ unique map collection.
  • Modified the Enrollment Database to enhance user experience and increase staff productivity.
  • Created Cite It tool based on open source citation builder software to provide students with an intuitive tool for citation generation.
  • Enhanced user experience by modifying the Assignment Planner.
  • Provided or assisted with course-integrated instruction for Expository Writing and Public Speaking classes.
  • Provided general library instruction by leading tours and teaching Introduction to Library Research.
  • Provided general reference service at  the Help Desk and through instant messaging.

Non-Directed Service

  • Served K-State community and the Libraries through assisting with Caffeine Fix, InfoOasis, International Student Orientation and the Open House.

Research / Creative

  • Participated and contributed to the open source community by providing or assisting with user support, documentation, bug fixes, and new features in Libstats and Citation Builder projects.
  • Presented “Teach your browser new tricks: Web-based instruction tools at K-State.” - 2009 Kansas Library Association Conference .
  • Received first four CEUs for coursework offered through O’Reilly School of Technology (administered by University of Illinois) toward a PHP programming certification.
